Lia – Studio Owner, E-RYT 500, Behavioral Specialist, Wellness Coach
Lia discovered yoga more than 10 years ago as a way to complement other forms of exercise.
Over time, it became much more than just a physical practice—it became a path to deeper mind-body connection and overall well-being.
As a behavioral scientist, Lia has observed the increasing mental and physical health challenges in academia and society at large. This inspired her to create Skandiflow, a space that makes yoga more inclusive, accessible, and community-driven—going beyond just the physical aspects of the practice.
In her classes, Lia blends movement, stillness, and self-empowerment, ensuring that students of all levels feel challenged yet supported. She enjoys guiding energizing flows, but also loves offering deeply restorative classes with hands-on massage to help students fully relax and reset. Above all, she believes yoga is for everyone and is passionate about creating a welcoming space for all bodies, backgrounds, and abilities.
Fun Facts:
3 things that bring me joy: Hiking, canoeing, and farming!
My favorite yoga pose: Camel and flying split! Both poses make me feel empowered and grounded at the same time.
One thing I always remind my students: “The most advanced pose that you can take, is the pose that your body is craving today”

Daniel – Studio Manager, RYT 200
Daniel discovered yoga about 21 years ago and quickly fell in love with its ability to help one stay in the present by practicing mindfulness, to prevent injuries by increasing and maintaining flexibility and strength, and for how good it makes him feel after finishing a challenging session.
With a background in mindfulness, fitness, economics, IT, and customer service management, Daniel brings his organisational, customer service, and tech-savvy skills to the studio, with a special knack for noticing the small things that really make a difference.
Chat with Daniel if you ever have any questions about different class styles, buying a membership, your account OR if you just need vegetarian restaurant suggestions, general health and fitness tips, or want to nerd out about technology, Star Trek, or Harry Potter.
Fun Facts:
3 things that bring me joy: learning about different cultures and languages, exercise, and laughing with friends
My favorite yoga pose: Sorry, I couldn’t choose just one! Some of my favourites are Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I) because it’s a great strength and endurance builder, Garland Pose (Malasana) and Dead Bug Pose (Ananda Balasana) because they are great hip/pelvic openers, and Standing Bow Pose (Dandayamana-Dhanurasana) and Tree Pose – Half Lotus Variation (Ardha Padma Vrksasana) because I enjoy working on my balance.
One thing I always remind our yogis: The most advanced pose is the one you can do. There’s no such thing as perfect yoga!

Kat discovered yoga 17 years ago and quickly fell in love with its ability to cover all the bases of strength, length, balance and mindfulness. With a background in healthcare and alternative therapies, she brings an individualistic approach to each class.

Amber – RYT 200 with Ghosh Yoga, Zumba, Certified Personal Trainer, Dip. Fitness & Health Promotion
Amber discovered yoga 17 years ago and quickly fell in love with its ability to connect the mind and body, making her feel present.
With a background in health and fitness coaching, she brings a dynamic, strength-based approach to each class, celebrating when students listen to their bodies – whether they’re pushing themselves or taking rest.
Her classes emphasize flow, building strength, exploring new poses, and sinking into familiar ones with comfort and ease.

One thing I always remind my students: It’s yoga practice, not yoga perfect.

Katelyn – RYT 200, RMT
Katelyn discovered yoga around 2014 and it was a bit of a slow burn, but not long before she fell in love. She loved the hour away from the rest of the world to tune into her body and become mindful of where her body was in time and space.
As a full time registered massage therapist, she brings attention to anatomy and a more playful approach to each class.
Her classes focus on movement with breath as well as helping sooth the typical body ailments of modern society. She loves encouraging students to do what feels right in their body, while still trying and exploring.
While guiding flow classes, Katelyn creates a space for students to feel encouraged to discover their abilities but also come as they are that day.
Fun Facts:
3 things that bring me joy: cats, human connection, sunsets
My favorite yoga pose: half moon – because when I started yoga I hated it – even wrote about it in a journal. During my yoga teacher training I fell in love with it and loved the new relationship with the pose.
One thing I always remind my students: Play!
.

Fun Facts:
3 things that bring me joy: daily movement, my pets, and travelling
My favorite yoga pose: reclined splits because I find it to be beneficial in any practice!
One thing I always remind my students: Your practice is just that, YOURS and you’re doing it for no one but yourself, so everything I say as an instructor is optional and simply a guide. It’s important to take modifications, rest, and hydration breaks whenever you need.

My favorite yoga pose: Pigeon pose because it’s the right mix of challenging and relieving.
One thing I always remind my students: Your body is the teacher, I’m just the facilitator.

Izzy – RYT 200
Izzy discovered yoga in 2019 as a competitive dancer and quickly fell in love with the way it helped to ground her, and how it made her feel both mentally and physically strong. As a Queen’s student studying Education and Psychology, she loves the way that yoga helps provide people with an opportunity to slow down while finding connection between mind and body on their mats.
Her classes focus on building a solid foundation in yoga, by finding and then building on core postures. She hopes that her students can feel so steady in these key postures that they feel confident enough to start exploring newer or more challenging poses in yoga, and feel inspired to play!
Izzy hopes to create a space where students feel welcome and supported upon entering the studio, and leave with a smile on their faces!

Jacob – RYT 200, BA Kinesiology, Dip. Fitness & Health Promotion, ONFCPT (Certified Personal Trainer), FRCms (Functional Mobility Specialist)
Jacob attended his first yoga class in a hot and sweaty studio in Toronto in the winter of 2013, and nothing was the same after that! Despite years of movement in sporting environments and gyms, he had not yet found his niche. Yoga met all his needs: it encouraged strength, flexibility, patience, determination, and also taught him to be present, something he had often struggled with.
Jacob left his mobile food business behind in 2016 to take his RYT-200 in Ashtanga/Vinyasa, and later added personal-training and group-fitness to his repertoire. He is currently taking his master’s in physical therapy. Jacob enjoys building creative, strong, and breath-centered flows with lots of room for modification and rest. The focus of his classes is often a peak pose, or a slow build-up, repeating postures and movements several times with increased intensity and variability. Jacob hopes to create classes that are challenging but also allow room for students to choose their own adventure. See you on the mat!
Fun Facts: 3 things that bring me joy: Vegan Pizza, Pop-Punk, Baseball
My favorite yoga pose: Cat-cow, cos I’m not getting any younger and my back needs lots of reminders to move!
One thing I always remind my students: ‘Listen to your body first, and me second. If the pose doesn’t work for you, don’t do it!’.

Kevin – Studio Cutie
Kevin, our beloved French Bulldog, is more than just a cute face at the studio – he’s an essential part of our yoga family!
With his charming personality and calm presence, Kevin greets everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle reminder to breathe and enjoy the present moment.
Despite some health challenges, he’s resilient and always shows up with a smile (and maybe a little snore during savasana).
Kevin’s journey inspires us all to keep going, stay positive, and find joy in the little things. Next time you visit, be sure to say hi to Kevin if he’s around – he’ll be here to add a little extra zen to your practice! 🐾🧘
