What Makes Skandiflow Different?

At Skandiflow, we believe great teachers are not defined by perfect postures. They are defined by their ability to create calm, welcoming spaces where students feel seen, supported, and encouraged to move in ways that honor their own bodies.

Inclusive and Welcoming

This training is ideal if you want to:

  • Deepen Your Practice: Evolve beyond physical poses to gain a profound, lasting connection to Yin
  • Learn more about yoga philosophy, anatomy, and movement
  • Develop mindfulness skills and build confidence

Every body, age, and background is welcome.

A Unique Skandiflow Experience

Our training reflects everything Skandiflow stands for:

  • Scandinavian simplicity, warmth, hygge, and community
  • Strength, resilience, and yoga as a lifelong practice
  • Real wellness without gimmicks in a supportive, non-competitive space

Science-Based & Centered on People

Most Yin Yoga trainings focus primarily on postures. We focus on people. You’ll learn why every body is different, how to adapt poses with confidence, and how to create inclusive spaces where students feel supported – far beyond simply learning where to place a foot or hold a pose.

This is the Skandiflow approach.

Our goal is not simply to teach you where to place someone’s foot or how long to hold a pose. You will be challenged, supported, and encouraged to continue your own path as a practitioner and teacher.

Who Is This Training For?

🧘 Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs): Expand your scope, learn functional anatomy for deep tissue/fascia, and gain 20 Yoga Alliance YACEP credits.

Reviews

The Skandiflow YTT program taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined! I am a uni student at Queen’s and don’t live in Kingston, which had me so hesitant to sign up – but I am SO glad I did! I was worried I wouldn’t have enough time for school, I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy it, I was scared to be the youngest one there. But truly now, I can’t imagine my life without this experience.

The programme was designed in a way to set us up for success. And not only did I learn about the physical practice of yoga, but also about the yogic lifestyle. This has changed my outlook on life completely! The community of yoga teachers was so diverse and of all of different ages, which let us all learn from each others’ experiences. I want to thank Lia for everything and would just so highly recommend this to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of yoga as more than just an exercise style.

Becoming a yoga teacher has been a dream of mine for years, but I wasn’t able to make it work. I am so happy that Skandiflow Health & Wellness offered a 200Hr Yoga Alliance Certified programme at the right time, the right curriculum, with a schedule I could actually fit into my life. Having practiced yoga for over two decades, this training took my practice to a far deeper, more meaningful level – but even if you are newer to yoga, you will still learn so much. Our cohort was made up of people of different ages, abilities, life stages, and experiences, which added so much to the journey.

Learning about the history, roots, philosophy, and lifestyle of yoga has had a profound impact on me, not just as a new teacher, but on a personal level. I’m able to incorporate aspects of yoga into my everyday life and I’ve noticed so many improvements. Leah’s workshop on props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps was so helpful for learning how to expand modification options and help yogis get deeper into their asanas. Kat was excellent with expert anatomy and biomechanics instruction.

I also appreciated the in-person aspect where I was able to ask questions, learn from other students, and practice in a real studio environment – something that I would not have been able to do with online training. We started teaching each other almost immediately, and that prepared me to actually become a yoga teacher. The opportunity to teach supervised studio classes to the public built my confidence and truly prepared me to teach. Lia has also fostered such a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment that all of us in the programme have felt safe enough to express ourselves, ask questions, ask for support from each other, and become friends. I’ve learnt so much more than just being able to cue yoga poses. I can’t recommend this programme enough.

The Skandiflow 200-hour yoga teacher training program was such a rewarding experience. I learned so much, not only about the physical practice of yoga, but also its philosophy and ethical foundations, and gained a deeper understanding of myself and my own teaching style. I really appreciated the spread-out format, which gave me time to integrate what I was learning while balancing other commitments. The sense of community at Skandiflow is incredible. Even if you’re simply looking to deepen your practice, you’ll leave feeling much more connected to the studio and the people in it.

Lia has been an exceptional mentor, always making time to answer questions, providing countless opportunities to teach community classes, and offering thoughtful, detailed feedback that helped me grow with confidence. If you are looking to take the next step in your yoga journey, this is definitely the place!

Skandiflow’s 200hr YTT program was a 10/10 experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take it to become an instructor or even just to learn more about yoga for your own practice. As someone who wanted to deepen their practice, I felt amazing support and understanding through the program when I needed extra encouragement and guidance. Lia and Kat are EXTREMELY knowledgeable in their profession, and it shows as they teach with compassion and accessibility that leaves new students feeling confident in themselves and not intimidated. The group really grew together as we went through the program and while my fellow students were people I knew, I really felt a stronger connection with everyone by the end.

The program is fully Certified with the Yoga Alliance which provides a certainty that the program is well worth it: the class times allow you to still work, and challenges you in all the great ways that brings on growth, personal development, and leaves you feeling knowledgeable and confident in yourself and the Skandiflow community!
– J. YTT Graduate
I had regularly been taking class at Skandiflow since January 2025 and have been on and off with yoga since 2012.  I’ve often considered taking a 200-hour yoga teacher training program, and when I saw that Skandiflow was offering a Yoga Alliance registered training it just felt right.  Being able to take the training program while still working full-time was attractive to me and felt more attainable than other programs I have seen.  It felt comfortable having been already familiar with the space, the studio owner (Lia) and teacher of the program.

I appreciated the structure of the training program; being able to delve deeper into the philosophy of yoga through meaningful and reflective conversations with my peers, exploring the functional aspects of the body through anatomy and physiology, learning practical aspects of teaching like cueing, poses, and sequencing, and having the opportunity to strengthen my own practice through classes and observations.  Upon completion of the 200 hours, I felt prepared to teach and move onto the next step of my journey.

This program was certainly challenging at times, both physically and mentally, but Lia and the other folks in my cohort created a supportive environment where it felt safe to learn, grow, and make mistakes along the way.  Everyone in the group came with their own experiences, insecurities, motivations, and abilities.  I’m deeply grateful for the people I shared the experience with, and it was lovely to watch everyone’s confidence blossom alongside my own.
